On Property Tax Relief

HOW I SEE THE CURRENT ENVIRONMENT: Throughout the Commonwealth, too many homeowners are facing annual dramatic increases in residential property taxes. In the past 5 years, the residential property tax burden has risen by over $1.4 billion in Massachusetts. These increases in the property taxes are a result of the growing costs that cities and towns are facing to cover the costs of health care, pensions, energy, and education. Additionally, reduction in local aid by the state has also forced ... [more]

On Education

HOW I SEE THE CURRENT ENVIRONMENT: Massachusetts has historically been at the forefront of innovation, growth and creativity. This success has been built on the foundation of education. Looking at the long term

Civic Engagement

A big part of our campaign was getting people to check back in and participate in the political process and in their government—a mission we continue to this day. Towards this aim, my committee and DevalPatrick.com are giving you a place to participate and engage with me and my administration, to organize, and to effect change in your community.

But this website isn’t the only place to engage. My administration has also been busy building new opportunities to allow people to participate in their government. You can learn more about these opportunities here.

Another part of our efforts to increase participation is the creation of the Commonwealth Corps. The Commonwealth has a strong history of community service, volunteerism, and civic action. I encourage you to learn all about the Commonwealth Corps at mass.gov.
