BOSTON - Wednesday, July 28, 2010 - The Deval Patrick and Tim Murray campaigns today announced the endorsement of NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts, citing Governor Patrick and Lieutenant Governor Murray's proven track record of fighting for women's health, safety, and privacy.

"I am proud to receive the endorsement of NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts and thank them for their hard work and advocacy on behalf of women's rights throughout Massachusetts," said Governor Patrick. "I look forward to working with them in the days to come as we continue to build a better, stronger Commonwealth."

"I appreciate the support of NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts," said Lt. Governor Murray. "NARAL has been an important partner and leader in our efforts to promote reproductive health and safety for women and families across the Commonwealth."

"NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts is proud to endorse Governor Patrick and Lieutenant Governor Murray in their bid for re-election because they have proven they will protect women's health, safety, and privacy," said Andrea Miller, Executive Director of NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts. "From signing landmark legislation creating a secure zone around reproductive health facilities to supporting family planning and age-appropriate, medically accurate sex education, the Patrick-Murray Administration has been a true and steadfast champion for a woman's right to choose."

Since 1972, NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts has been a leader in advancing reproductive freedom for women and families in the Commonwealth by developing and sustaining a grassroots constituency that uses the political process to guarantee every woman the right to make personal decisions regarding reproductive choices.

The endorsements come on the heels of recent announcements of endorsements from such organizations across the Commonwealth as the Service Employees International Union's State Council, the Massachusetts Teachers Association, the Massachusetts NOW PAC, Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund, Neighbor-to-Neighbor, MassEquality PAC, as well as several mayors throughout the state.
